Every BODY Deserves a Swimsuit

bathing suits for different body types - Girl Zone

Treat your body to one this summer!

By Elite Rubin

Head out into the sun, and kiss those winter blues goodbye! Whether you're swimming, sliding or supersoaking, every body needs a swimsuit.

Think of a swimsuit as a piece of clothing -- NOT as a state of undress. The more uncomfortable you are with your body, the more you tend to concentrate on what's not covered instead of on the great suit you are wearing. If you feel self-conscious, you usually end up not buying or wearing this gotta-have-it piece of summer attire.

You should appreciate a swimsuit for how it makes you feel, how it fits, the color and the design -- just like you would appreciate any other piece of clothing. When you are assessing a potential suit, don't look in the mirror and fixate on a body part that you dont feel comfortable with -- look at the whole you in the whole suit.

Whether you are a size 2 or a size 22, you need and deserve a cool swimsuit and there is one out there to match you and YOUR body.

Read on to find out about great suits for small busted, big busted, or any-kind-of-bodied girl to wear...

Small Busted??? You'll look awesome in prints and horizontal stripes or in a suit contoured with patterns or ruffles. Triangle tops might not work so well for you, but remember fake is NOT where it's at, so go easy on the padding!

Big Busted??? You'll look great in a suit with a high neck cut or in a sporty athletic-shaped top. Separates work well for you if you have the option of buying a bigger top and a smaller bottom. For good support try suits with underwire. Don't wear a swimsuit that provides zero support and if you feel shy and want to downplay your bustline -- stay away from horizontal stripes.

Bigger Bottomed??? If you don't want to show too much cheek -- watch out for brief cut suits. Go for a full cut bottom instead in a rich darker color. Or have fun with a skirted bottom, a shorts cut bottom, or a cool looking sarong style suit. Keep in mind that horizontal stripes and boy cuts accentuate bottoms.

Super Skinny??? Grab some hipster bottoms or patterned suits. Shiny finishes and thick textures add inches everywhere. If you are shy about showing too much -- there is always the tankini. Its a tank top teamed with a bikini bottom -- everyone looks fabulous in it! Vertical stripes emphasize thinness and dark suits have a tendency to make big things look much smaller!

Plus size??? You'll look great in vertical stripes, V-lines or color blocking with a pattern. Although many think that black suits make everyone look thinner, patterned swimsuits are more slimming than solids. Stay away from skimpy styles if you are going to feel self-conscious. It is better to buy a suit in a size with a little extra room than one that just barely fits!

Finally, chuck the big T-shirt cover-up. It's like wearing a sign that says "Hey, I think I look really bad in this swimsuit." School's out and it is time to hit the pool. Don't let what you are wearing stop you from enjoying summer and fun in the sun.
