Dreaming of water frequently represents emotions. The fluidness of water reflects your constantly changing emotional nature. Water can also represent your spirituality, intuitiveness, sexuality and femininity.
Dear Jean,
I dreamed that I was ice-skating and the ice started breaking. What does this mean?
Sincerely,
Corina
Dear Corina,
Frozen water or ice indicates a "chilly" emotional situation. Skating over this circumstance reflects a desire to not get emotionally involved or feeling the inability to deal with a problem you are having emotionally. The ice starting to break can be quite good! Breaking through the ice can symbolize a couple of things. Firstly, that you are now feeling ready to address yours or another's emotional needs and/or secondly, that you are being forced to respond to this area in your life.
Wishing you positive and flowing emotions,
Jean Wiley
Dear Jean,
I am having this dream two to three times a week and need to know what it means. My father and mother have recently been separated and my father has moved out of the house. I am having a lot of dreams of drowning in the water. In one of the dreams my father brought me to a swimming pool and we are having a lot of fun. But then he starts to put my head under the water and ends up drowning me on purpose.
Chloe
Dear Chloe,
My heart goes out to you. This dream has been understandably distressing. Drowning in water points to your emotionally feeling overwhelmed and upset. Hence the term "drowning in one's emotions". Certainly, your dream is reflecting your unhappiness over your parent's separation. You may also feel that your Father rightly or wrongly is responsible for the separation since your dream shows him as the cause of your struggling emotions.
Wishing you peace and acceptance.
Jean Wiley
