I'd suggest talking to him about it, this happens to a lot of girls and sometimes the guy is willing to sacrifice his bad habits if he is interested in a serious relationship with you. You shouldn't give up your morals to be around something that makes you uncomfortable, a huge part of liking someone is liking the things that they do as well.
