Heartache by Malloy Lapp

Permit me to tell you about heartache,
For I have felt my heart break,
The taste you get in your mouth,
The tears that automatically come to your eyes,
    Slowly streaming down your face,
The time standing still,
But the heartache that hurts the most,
Isn’t one between two loves,
The one that hurts the most is when,
You aren't loved back by the person that means the most,
When you have to cry in secret so no one knows,
When you dream just to be there’s for a moment,
Going day to day with them never leaving your mind,
Knowing that you have never crossed theirs,
For that is true heartache.
