Dreams - a poem by Radhika Sharma
Dreams - by Radhika Sharma
Dreams leave me wishing,
Dreams leave me wanting,
Something I cannot be.
Dreams leave me questioning,
The power in me.
Dreams can be broken,
Dreams can be made,
We shall awaken,
So choices are made.
But dreams are best seen with closed eyes,
They are the child of my heart,
Something I lust to have,
Something I wish to see,
So let me dream in closed pearl drops,
For the world seems a little less mean.
*I wrote this poem to express my views about the
lack of freedom and opportunity for women and girls
in India. Freedom remains a dream yet to be realized.
